In the competitive job market, having a well-crafted cover letter can significantly impact a candidate's chances of securing an interview. However, many individuals struggle with writing effective cover letters and personal introductions. Our project aimed to create a website that uses AI to simplify this process, making it easier for users to produce tailored and professional content.

Problem Statement: Many job seekers find it challenging to write cover letters and personal introductions that effectively convey their skills and experiences. This project aims to develop a user-friendly platform where AI assists users in creating personalized and professional cover letters, saving time and enhancing their job applications.

I identified Sarah Johnson, a frontend developer with three years of experience, as our primary user persona. Sarah seeks to advance her career but struggles with articulating her strengths and tailoring her cover letters to specific job applications.

Through empathy mapping, we understood Sarah's needs and frustrations. She feels overwhelmed and uncertain about her writing skills, desires an easier way to write impactful cover letters, and spends a significant amount of time on the writing process.

I then went a step further, and compared existing websites based on ease of use, AI functionality, customization options, user support, output quality, feedback mechanisms, and additional features. This analysis provided insights into the strengths and weaknesses of current solutions, guiding our design process.

By addressing the common pain points in writing cover letters and personal introductions, our AI-powered website aims to empower users like Sarah Johnson to create impactful and personalized content efficiently. This project not only simplifies the writing process but also enhances the quality of job applications, ultimately improving users' chances of securing their desired positions.

Working as both a designer and developer on this project provided me with a comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end process, from concept to execution. After completing the design phase, I opened VSCode to assist the development team with some coding tasks, aiming to consolidate my HTML and CSS knowledge.

Collaborating closely with a senior developer was incredibly beneficial. Their expertise and guidance helped me grasp complex concepts and best practices in web development. For example, I learned about efficient coding techniques, the importance of clean code, and how to troubleshoot issues effectively. This hands-on experience not only reinforced my coding skills but also improved my ability to create designs that are both visually appealing and technically feasible.

Overall, this dual role enhanced my versatility as a professional and deepened my appreciation for the collaborative nature of design and development.
